SELF HELP AFRICA is looking to appoint a CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER. The successful candidate for this position will have global responsibility for the financial operations of the organisation in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and across our nine programme countries in Africa.
Established in the mid-1980s, SELF HELP AFRICA specialises in long-term famine prevention. It works in countries where food shortage is a constant threat - promoting sustainable, long term, lasting change.
SELF HELP AFRICA is a forward thinking organisation that has ambitious plans to deliver more development programmes, and improve the lives of more people in Africa in the years to come. The CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER will have a key role to play in these plans.
The role of CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER is a new position, and has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to accelerate their career. The successful candidate will oversee all company finance and accounting practices, will work closely with the Chief Executive. This role will give the successful candidate exceptional career experience with significant responsibility and a capability to make an impact in a challenging and rewarding environment.
A minimum of six years experience in a senior financial role is required. Financial experience in the NGO sector is desirable, but not essential. The terms and benefits package will be commensurate with the seniority of the position and the experience of the chosen applicant.
