| | | Regular Giving | | | You can support Self Help's ongoing work in Africa through regular donations by direct debit.
These donations help to establish long term and sustainable development projects which are helping hundreds of thousands of people in East Africa every year.
By donating over €250 per annum, or as little as €22 per month, Self Help will benefit from tax relief from the Irish Government. This makes the value of your donation to Self Help considerably greater than your original contribution.
For Example:
If you are paying PAYE in the lower tax bracket, a donation of €250 per annum would generate an additional income for Self Help of €62.50, making your donation worth €312.50.
If you are paying PAYE in the higher tax bracket, a donation of €250 per annum will generate an additional income for Self Help of €181.04, making your donation €431.04. |

| | What your money achieves | A single donation of:
€22 can enable two African families to develop a homestead small-holding which can produce all of their families food supply needs.
€100 will allow Self Help to plants 1,250 trees, and combat the chronic problem of soil degradation, erosion and desertification which is having a massive negative impact on the lives of millions of people in Africa.
€250 is enough to enable Self Help to establish two 30 strong women's savings and credit schemes - facilities which provide loans for the establishment of small business ventures and income generating activities such as home gardens, livestock rearing, petty trading and textile production.
€1,000 is the average cost for the development of a community rainwater harvesting system, or of making safe a spring water supply which can service the needs of communities of up to 2,000 people.
€2,000 will finance the medicines necessary to start a community clinic. As the patients buy the medicine - for a nominal fee - the clinic gains the funds needed to ensure constant availability of life saving drugs. | | More information | For more information on how you can help Self Help, please contact our Fundraising department on 059-6471175 or by e-mail to: fundraising@shdi.org | | | | Related Topics | | | | | Downloads | | | | | (Download this form and print off.
